The time has come to share my baby with the world: Finding My Happy.
This is a project I’ve been working for almost two years, and the fact it’s now a reality blows my mind. Words cannot describe how grateful I am for this moment and opportunity, one I want everyone to enjoy.
What is Finding My Happy? It’s a collection of personal essays, and when I say “personal,” I mean real, raw emotions. Unfiltered thoughts. Just a young person finally accepting a life with mental illness and growing into a stronger woman despite everything that could set me back.
I’ve overcome immense obstacles, and I’m sure you have, too. I hope that in this book, you can find yourself within its pages. I hope you take my words and make the most of them, the lessons I’ve learned spilling into your life and fueling your own journey to happiness.
This isn’t a self-help book. It’s a reality book. Finding My Happy isn’t just my own musings; it’s a chance to create your own definition of what true happiness looks like, even amidst challenge. It’s a reminder that whatever has made you feel isolated, like something is wrong with you, that you need to change yourself…those thoughts are not true. Trust me; I’ve been there. I may just be a college student, but that doesn’t mean I don’t have some ideas to offer you.
Read Finding My Happy in whatever order you see fit: it’s your journey. Follow me as I examine society, my own reality, and what I’ve learned along the way. This is just the beginning of something greater for you: you have the potential to find not only happiness, but wellness in mind, body, and soul. We’re in this together, so please join me.
For anybody who chooses to buy and read Finding My Happy, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. Seriously, it means the world. I’m wishing nothing but the best, and please feel free to share how you’re finding your own happy. It may be an individual journey, but it’s one we’re all seeking. And yes, we will get there.
Take care, and keep the faith. -Allie
